Milling Machine Has Voice Warning

Mazak Corp. The Hyper Quadrex 150 MSY is targeted at production of turned and machined workpieces from bar stock up to 2.56" in diameter. It features two horizontally-opposed spindles for turning and C-axis control, plus two full-function tool turrets with X-, Y-, and Z-axis motions. It can be fitted with an automatic bar feeder and a robotic part unloader to create an integrated work cell for unattended machining of an industrial component. Each turret offers a full complement of 12 VDI-type tools, including 7.5 hp, 6,000-rpm live spindles for milling, drilling, and tapping operations. The twin turrets can operate independently or simultaneously on the same part for simultaneous machining of two features on the same part, or balanced machining strategies. In balanced cutting, two tools work together on the same feature such as rough and finish turning, rough and finish milling, or opposed feature drilling, tapping, or boring using the Y-axes. The Voice Advisor works in manual mode to verbally remind the operator through the Mazatrol Matrix CNC about selected switch settings and cautionary considerations. The Virtual Machining capability creates and executes an accurate 3D simulation of the cutting program to minimize test cuts and check for tool interferences right at the machine control. It features a 12.6" swing, 11.4" maximum machining diameter, and 24.4" machining length. The main spindle is equipped with a 6" chuck and C-axis control.

Pneumatic Swing Clamps

DE-STA-COThe 9500 series of pneumatic swing clamps are for installations where hydraulic power is not suitable. The clamps exert a force ranging from 41 lb to 212 lb without deforming delicate parts. They can be used in harsh application environments due to a fully-enclosed design. The clamp series is designed for both fixed and radially adjustable arm connections. The 90° swing of the clamping arm minimizes obstruction in the workplace and reduces cycle time. The clamps also were designed to eliminate linear travel during rotation and features a no backlash option for precise repeatability, as well as fixed orifice porting to eliminate flow controls. The clamps are designed with a piston rod that is supported at both ends of the shaft and switch grooves for either 4mm diameters or 6mm × 5mm switches.

Heavy-weight Punch Press

Finn-Power International, Inc.The X5 hydraulic turret punch press is a 23 metric ton turret punch press that can fabricate sheet sizes up to 50"×100" with thicknesses up to 0.32". The coordinate table moves the work piece in X and Y directions. The slides move on hardened linear guide bars with antifriction bearings and are driven by maintenance-free AC servo motors. Acceleration and deceleration of the axes is programmable. The X traverse is 101.7", so a 50"×100" sheet can be processed without repositioning. Working area can be expanded in X direction by automatic repositioning. The X5 Auto-Index concept rotates the punch and the die in their tool holders using a single AC servomotor. There are no gearboxes built inside the turret. Automatic tool changing is accomplished by a bi-directionally rotating turret.
