Micro-abrasive System for Blasting Small Parts
The AccuFlo micro-abrasive blasting system can deburr, clean, and texture small parts. It is equipped with the patented system of mixing air and abrasive to improve flow consistency. The result is control over the volume of powder flowing through the machine. The system also features an ergonomic handpiece. A media tank features a clear top for checking of the powder level. LCD counters keep track of blast cycles and hours of use, providing milestones for maintenance. An open design with color-coded air lines and connectors facilitate regular maintenance. The AccuFlo micro-abrasive blaster ships with either a standard or tall tank, in 115V and 230V models. Micro-abrasive blasters are used for deburring, surface preparation, selective cleaning, material removal, and focused cutting in medical manufacturing, microelectronics, precision machining, and the aerospace industry.

Mist Suppressant Protects Workers, Plating Equipment
Non-Mist L is a plating additive that forms a thin, strong foam blanket that reduces surface tension, preventing the migration of mists that can harm workers, equipment, and ventilation systems. It is an EPA-compliant anti-mist that prevents vapor escape and minimizes evaporative losses from chrome – Cr3 and Cr5 – plating baths. Chromic acid concentrations are kept low, and waste treatment costs are minimized.

Improved Slat Cleaner Model
The TSC 2 slat cleaner removes slag from the slats of laser cutting machines. It is the successor to the TSC 1 slat cleaner which was introduced in 2006. The slat cleaner can be used on flatbed laser machines with pallet changers from any manufacturer. The machine differs from its predecessor with a new capacity plate, brush set, and vent holes. A steel brush set replaces the stripper plate used on the earlier model, resulting in longer tool life. New teeth from the rollers to gear, combined with vent holes for roller lubrication, help to extend tool life. The pinion shaft is made from one part, and the pin connection for torque transmission has been eliminated. The clutch has been reinforced with a bearing disc which results in better clutch guidance due to a bigger bearing dimension. The slat cleaner can be used on support slats from 0.08" to 0.15" thick. With its automatic forward feed, it cleans slag up to 0.6" thick off steel, stainless steel, and copper support slats operating at a speed of 26 to 32 fpm. Slats do not have to be removed for cleaning and on flatbed laser cutting machines with a pallet changer, cleaning can take place while production is running.

Grinder Has Three New Accessories
The Triad – TTG Plus – tungsten grinder has three grinder accessories: a tungsten cutting holder, a double-decker kit, and a protective cover. The grinder features an industrial-grade motor that provides consistent tungsten cutting and facing capabilities up to 5/32" for both orbital and handheld TIG welding applications. The cutting holder cuts 0.040", 1/16", and 3/32" diameter tungsten to a fixed length. The double-decker kit lets a second, rough-finish grinding wheel be attached to the grinder, freeing the existing finish wheel to smooth the tungsten, improving arc-starting capabilities and ensuring good weld penetration. It also features an additional grinding head with precision-drilled entries for six different tungsten electrode diameters, and includes four different grinding angles. A protective dust cover attaches to the Triad grinding head to prevent tungsten contamination.

Insert Mount Optimized for PCD and CBN
The VFLASH insert mount features a serrated, pocket design and direct-mount, insert-clamping system, and operates at speeds of up to 20,000 SFM – rates for optimal use of tipped polycrystalline diamond – PCD – inserts for aluminum applications, and cubic boron nitride – CBN – tools for other materials. The high rigidity of the insert mount is characterized by a closed wedge-lock, pocket design, where 75 percent of the insert body is protected and able to absorb high centrifugal forces. Overall system strength is enhanced by incorporating a serrated insert face and pocket surface to align and secure the insert, decreasing any lateral shift during operation. Within the pocket, the hardened wedge lock is positioned at the insert underside acting as a damper against vibrations and designed to protect the cutter body in case of collisions. The cutter body is manufactured from steel and hardened for added resistance to chip abrasion wear-and-tear. Sizes range from 2" through 12" diameters. Cutters with metric diameters and mountings are also available.

Minimum Lube Roller Guides
Linear Motion Roller Guides offer low, consistent friction factors, which allow tighter control of positioning, small incremental moves, and repeatability. There are small differences in static – start-up – and dynamic friction, making motion control reliable and energy efficient. Low-friction linear guides allow increased velocity leading to improved machining efficiency. The guides are known for their high reliability and long life. Rolling, as opposed to sliding, creates little wear of raceways and rolling elements over long periods of operation. The guides require minimum lubrication since a thin film of lubrication helps preserve accurate linearity, thus reducing the need to dispose of lubricating materials. The roller guides are used on a number of the manufacturer’s vertical and horizontal machining centers.

Hot Stuff in Furnace Design
The 5000 AM Series alloy muffle furnaces are equipped with a corrugated alloy retort which separates the chamber refractory and heating elements from the workload and atmosphere to minimize scale and oxidation. The retort reduces atmosphere consumption, shortens the purge time, and helps achieve lower dew points. A gasketed door assembly with clamping handles provides a positive seal against the front flange of the retort. The furnaces are rated for workloads up to 50 lb/ft2 of hearth area. Heating elements are heavy gauge, coil wound, and replacable. Lightweight firebrick and mineral wool insulation minimize heat loss. The furnaces are rated for 2,050°F operation and can be used with inert or flammable atmosphere. For flammable atmospheres, the furnace package incorporates an Atmosphere Safety System designed in accordance with NFPA 86C regulations. The product line is available in 22 standard sizes with chamber sizes ranging from 8"×12"×18" to 24"×24"×36". All models are wired, assembled, and shipped ready for connection to 230V or 460V and regulated atmosphere pressure of 5 psi.

Diamonds are a Dresser’s Best Friend
The hDD – hybrid diamond dressing – combines the toughness of metal bonding with the natural porosity of a vitrified bond structure, comparable to porosity found in vitrified CBN grinding wheels. The combination provides more consistent CBN grinding wheel performance, and increased intervals between dresses, resulting in longer grinding wheel life, improved longevity of the dressing tool itself, and total elimination of the need to change out the dressing tool for re-conditioning, according to the manufacturer. A proprietary manufacturing process that both mechanically and chemically bonds the diamond particles within the tool ensures they will be held securely. The improved porosity means the rotary dressing tools are freer cutting, carrying more material and heat away from the CBN wheel with every revolution. The dressing tool remains sharp without removing for conditioning. The dressing tools can be manufactured in a range of sizes and shapes to suit machine and dressing spindle designs.

Get Clean with a Parts Washer
The Orbit 800 rotary table parts washer incorporates a touch-screen control panel. It has a 750 lb-capacity stainless steel wire mesh basket that is 5" deep and 31.5" in diameter at a loading height of 31". Surrounding the gearmotor-driven rotary table on three sides are spray bars, each with an array of V-spray jets to ensure impingement of cleaning solution on the top, bottom, and sides of components loaded in the revolving basket. A thermostat-controlled 12 kW electric immersion heater maintains the aqueous cleaning solution at the desired temperature up to a maximum of approximately 180°F. The standard 2 hp vertical seal-less pump delivers up to 50 gpm of solution at a line pressure of 40 psi. Single or dual in-line cartridge or bag-type filters remove particulates from the recirculating wash solution before it enters the spray bars. Solid contaminants such as chips and debris are removed from the fluid as it returns to the wash tank by a strainer basket located below the process chamber.
