Torch Tip Replacements Ready

Replacement parts for Komatsu Twister 150 amp guns are available. The manufacturer places emphasis on creating a product with close tolerances to ensure tight cutting performance. By producing the product domestically, it can hold closer tolerances and use its own quality-control standards. The company also manufactures replacement parts for MIG, TIG, plasma, oxy-fuel, thermal spray and laser guns, torches, and machines. American Torch Tip Co.

Big Drilling in a Compact Unit

The MS7 Mechatric features 3.7kW spindle motor and 7,800N thrust and is capable of facing, end-milling, and drilling 28mm diameter holes in steel and up to 32mm holes in cast iron, with tight tolerances. It has a 200mm stroke and maximum cutting speed of 16.7mm/sec. Its servo feed motor, with infinite control capability, lets the MS7 perform a range of variable feed applications including: slower entry feeds, pecking in deep holes, and reduced exit speeds to reduce burrs. The drilling unit comes with the servo motor CNC controller for programming from a console, touch panel, or a personal PC. It has a 17"×41" footprint. Sugino Corp.

Endmills and Facemills are a Family Affair

A family of high-speed milling-adjustable endmills and facemills have application in dealing with aluminum, non-metallics, cast iron, and hardened steel, for use in automotive and aerospace as well as other applications. The dynamically-balanced cutters are designed to work with polycrystalline diamond or cubic boron nitride inserts, protecting their edges. They also accommodate standard HSM-rated HELIDO 2000 carbide inserts. In both the endmills and facemills, internal coolant holes provide a cooler cutting face with chip evacuation and resistance to built-up edge. Insert pockets in the cutters have a flexible rear stopper, which can be adjusted by a slanted screw, enabling axial positioning of the cutting edge within 0.002mm. Endmills, designated E90AD, are available with HSK A63 shanks in four diameters from 25mm to 50mm. Facemills, designated F90AD, come in 50mm to 80mm diameters in four sizes. Iscar Metals Inc.

Fast-moving Telescoping Covers

Large, heavy, and telescoping steel covers are designed for high feed rates and high accelerations. A transport mechanism developed for speeds between 98 fpm and 262 fpm eliminates high-limit stop forces and corresponding noises in operational positions, moving smoothly when the covers are pulled apart as well as when they come together. Test runs at speeds exceeding 328 fpm and accelerations exceeding 1g were trouble-free, according to the manufacturer. The system is not positively driven; as a result, it doesn’t need to move the entire mass. Depending on the length of the stroke, the only boxes moved are the ones required for clearance. The mechanically-muffled units travel on guides for stability. Hennig, Inc.

Milling Cutters Offer Use Across Industries

The Z-Plunge milling cutter is designed for aerospace, die and mold, and general engineering applications. With a design for increased chip evacuation, the manufacturer promises productivity increases up to 30 percent. Four cutting edges per insert offer economy. Coolant is delivered through interchangeable coolant nozzles available in nine sizes to accommodate most machines. The cutters are available in screw-on, endmill, and shell mill styles. Sizes range from 32mm to 160mm and 1.25" to 6". Inserts, in both ground and direct-pressed forms, come in grades to suit most workpiece materials. Kennametal Inc.

No Return-to-zero After Power Failure EDM

The BA24 is a large-capacity wire EDM designed to accommodate a variety of machining needs, from parts to dies. The BA24’s compact head design increases nozzle accessibility to stepped workpieces and clamping fixtures. The machine offers X, Y, Z travel dimensions of 23.6"×15.7"×12.2" with a four-sided work table and an all-stainless steel work tank and fluid system. The vertical front work tank door saves floor space required by a swing door and eliminates dripping on the floor. The BA24 comes with a V350 II power supply. The Power Master 4 – PM4 – control enables automation from rough to finish machining. The PM4’s stepped shape capabilities allow multiple parts with different shapes and thickness to be machined without setting specific electrical conditions. The machine comes standard with all-axis absolute control, which allows accurate positioning without returning to zero after power failure. The Cost Save mode reduces consumable and electrical costs. The dielectric fluid pump inverter has a 16-step programmable flushing control system. The unit also has several self-cleaning features for reduced maintenance time. Steady Rests from Small to Large

The Richter manual steady rests come in standard, special, and large ring-style, with diameters from 0.788" to 59.1" and load capacities ranging between two to 30 tons. Steady rests turn long shaft-type workpieces where cutting can create unstable conditions or cause the parts to bend or deflect. They are available for grinding and for extra large workpieces. The Richter manual steady rest models include gas springs, rotating, traveling, C-form, grinding, roller, and ring styles. Many of the models feature an electronic measuring device that lets the steady rest identify the center of the machine and the sleeves. LMC Workholding

Two-ton Capable Welding Table

The BuildPro Series of welding tables are modular and constructed of hardened steel plates with 5/8" holes in a 2" grid pattern. Each plate can be removed and reconfigured to extend the width of the tabletop to better accommodate specific projects. It features an inch-based table with a variety of tools to be used, such as sliding arm clamps, pliers, magnet squares, or vises. The 1-3/4"-wide spaces between the plates offer easy placement of clamps at any point on the tabletop, along the sides, at the ends, or in the center, wherever clamping is needed. It has a heavy-duty four-beam support base that provides a 2 ton load capacity. Strong Hand Tools

Longer-part Deburring

The double-head, flow-through, short part deburring system can deburr parts ranging from 1" to 7.5" long. It simultaneously deburrs both ends of an extrusion. Each of the four 12" or 14" disc brushes is driven by a 3 hp motor. The brush motors are mounted on tool slides for alignment of the brushes to the ends of the parts. A variable speed, manually-fed conveyor system allows for deburring rates of up to 1,200 parts per hour. The flow-through deburring system is engineered for precise control of part penetration into the brush face. The abrasive action is concentrated on the ends of the extrusion, minimizing any effect on the lateral surface. The expanded capacity provides fabricators who specialize in high volumes of short-length parts. Abtex Corp.
