Long Drill for Auto Parts

MANThe solid carbide Long-Length drill bits for small-diameter, deep holes in automotive camshafts, cylinder heads and blocks, crankshafts, and connecting rods. Metal-removal rate is up to 100 percent greater than competiting gun and high-speed steel drills and has a 10 percent better metal-removal rate compared to other solid-carbide products drilling 15 to 20 times diameter deep. The drill’s point has a four-margin design to maintain stability throughout the cut. The 135° high-positive point geometry reduces thrust and provides centering ability that increases accuracy. It has 12.5 percent cobalt submicron substrate and hard physical vapor deposition coating that provides durability and toughness. Kennametal Inc.

Mirror-Image Turning Centers

MAN

The You Ji YV-600A vertical turning center produces medium-sized parts for aerospace, oil field, and other industries. There are mirror-image right- and left-hand versions so shops can place machines side by side in a work cell, providing two spindles in the space of one horizontal turning center. A six-station turret ensures no tool interference. There is a high-speed linear way system that delivers 787 ipm rapid traverse rates. The 30hp Fanuc P series double-wound spindle motor, with two-speed ZF gear box, has the same power output as a Fanuc 50hp single with two-speed gear box. The spindle produces about 3,000 ft-lb cutting torque for heavy cutting. Absolute Machine Tools Inc.
